Job Description

Mō te tūnga | About the role

We’re building out our modern data platform at Taranaki Regional Council, and we are looking for a Data Developer, experienced with integrations across a hybrid environment (Azure Cloud an on-prem), to join our Digital Technology team.

This is a permanent, full-time role focused on enabling secure, automated, and governed data connectivity across our digital ecosystem. You’ll be working alongside our data, systems, and infrastructure engineers to design and implement robust integrations, APIs, and data pipelines using Microsoft Azure services. Your work will help ensure our systems talk to each other efficiently and securely, supporting analytics, operations, and compliance across the organisation. You’ll contribute to shaping how data is used and shared across the Council. You’ll help develop reusable data models, integration patterns, and best practices that support a wide range of initiatives—from environmental monitoring and reporting to operational efficiency and community engagement. This is a hands-on role with plenty of scope to influence how we build and evolve our data platform.

We have a number of exciting projects underway, and this role will be key to delivering the integration and automation components that underpin them. You’ll be working with tools like Azure Logic Apps, Functions, Data Factory, Synapse, and Graph API, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. If you enjoy working across disciplines and want to help build something that makes a real difference for our region, we’d love to hear from you.

Further details on the role can be found below on the Position Description link, or for any other questions please contact our People and Wellness team on recruitment@trc.govt.nz.
